Adventure Academy

I have to share this great site with you all. Oh, how I wish I had found it three years ago! It is created by the same people who created ABC Mouse for pre-k through grade 2. This program is for grades 3-8. It is a fun site, created to feel like a video game. The students "level up" as they play their way through lessons. With each level up, they can add accessories to their avatars, build onto their player homes, etc.  Jacob is right at the tail end of the program. It is really too young for him, in general. Though I'm sure it will have some benefits and be fun on those days when heavy assignments are not going to work. If I understand correctly, every student begins at the same level and plays through. I don't know if that means at their grade level or from grade 3. It might be a great tool for review and to see where any struggling occurs. If he blows right through the entire program, I know it was definitely too young for him. But if not, he's having fun while I'm seeing where we need to focus. It's a win either way.

If you have a 3rd grader, this seems like a great program. Even better if your child went through ABC Mouse as a preschooler-grade 2. I'm not sure how I never found this site when searching the internet for new ideas. If it weren't for a facebook ad, I still wouldn't know about it. So glad I stumbled upon it.

It is a paid curriculum, but at $12.99/month, it is very reasonable. And you get the first month free to try it out.

I'll update our reviews after he uses it a few times.
