Earthquake!

 

We certainly had an unexpected earth science lesson this morning! Just before 10:30, we felt a strong rumble and some of our furniture was shimmying a bit. For a second, I thought a big truck was going by, but then it persisted a bit too long, and I realized I had felt this before. In 1985, Michael and I experienced a significant earthquake in The Philippines. That back and forth motion is unforgettable. This time, it was much gentler, but unmistakable, none the less. The kids all felt it. 

There was a 4.0 magnitude earthquake in New Jersey. Nature amazes me. I can't believe we felt it here in Rhode Island. I'm just thankful it was so mild and no one was hurt.
